In response to field inquiries from the repair and insurance industries, Ford Motor Company has released Technical Service Bulletin Article # 98-3-12, describing service kits that are now available to repair 1997-98 Ford F-150/250 LD, (light duty) Expedition and Lincoln Navigator frames. These kits include the following key components:
The attached graphic diagrams show the location of these components on F-150/250 LD, Expedition and Navigator models. The kits, including bolt-on parts, appropriate fasteners and instructions, can be ordered from local Ford Dealers. Please consult with your Ford dealer if you have any questions.
Note:
It has been reported that some front bumper bracket kits do not contain the fasteners or instruction sheets. These kits should be returned to the dealer for exchange with the correct kits. The front bumper brackets are NOT to be welded to the frame.
