Plas-StickT Flex-Additive 2350S

Description

Plas-StickT Flex-Additive 2350S is designed for use in selected ChromaSystemT undercoat, single-stage and clearcoat products. 2350S is part of a system of products designed to improve the adhesion, chip resistance and flexibility of ChromaSystemT products over semi-flexible and fully-flexible plastics.

Components:
2350S - Plas-StickT Flex-Additive is for use with the following products:

ChromaPremierT Sealer
ChromaOne^® Single-Stage
ChromaPremierT Single-Stage
ChromaClear Clearcoats
ChromaPremierT Clearcoats

Topcoats:
For ChromaPremierT Single-Stage and ChromaOne^® Single-Stage topcoats, add 2 ounces of 2350S per ready-to-spray quart.

Tips for Success:
7600S and V7600S are not recommended for use on plastic parts.

Pot Life:
30-60 minutes. Mix the appropriate amount of material for the job and clean equipment immediately after use.

Application

Substrates:
Flexible plastics that have been properly prepared.

Surface Preparation:
All plastic substrates must be thoroughly cleaned in the following manner:

• Wash with mild detergent and hot water.
• Clean with Plas-StickT Plastic-Prep 2319S to further remove mold release agents. Use a clean cloth for this step and repeat applications if needed.
• Sand thoroughly with P500-P600 grit paper and follow with a gray scuff pad.
• Reapply 2319S to remove sanding sludge and to eliminate static.
• Wipe dry.

Tips for Success

• To test the surface preparation, pour a cap of 2319S on the prepared area. 2319S will sheet cleanly over a clean substrate. If 2319S beads up, the surface is not clean.
• For difficult to clean and textured plastics, temper the substrate for 30 minutes at 140°F after cleaning and sanding (if applicable). This may be helpful in driving out further mold release agents. Do not sand after tempering. Reapply 2319S after tempering.
• Use a clean cloth for applying and wiping 2319S.
• If the part is pre-primed, try to avoid cut-throughs. If cut-throughs occur, complete the surface prep procedure and follow the recommended Plas-StickT refinishing system designated for the unprimed plastic substrate you are working with.
• Refer to Automotive Plastics Refinishing Guide for complete system repair procedures. Note: Tempering is not beneficial for urethane parts (PUR) due to "post cure" temperatures in excess of 140°F.

Caution:
Do not use solvent-based cleaners on unprimed plastic or fiberglass (i.e., 3900S, 3901S, 3919S, 3939S) due to static buildup and the potential for flash fire.

Note:
The use of ChromaSystemT Flex-Additive 2350S will act to reduce the ready-to-spray viscosity of ChromaSystemT products. In addition, the application of products containing 2350S are typically small in area of coverage and require low film builds for maximum performance. For these reasons, we recommend a more restricted gun setup compared to normal applications.
