Flexible Plastics Repair Procedures

Identify the Plastic

• Polyolefin
• Non-Polyolefin

Identify and Prepare the Substrate

A. Unprimed (polyolefin or non-polyolefin)

1. Wash with soap & water
2. Clean with 2319S
3. Sand
4. Clean with 2319S
   Complete the Repair
   
   
5. If polyolefin or unknown plastic, apply 2322S
6. Apply 2340S*
7. Apply your choice of topcoat: ChromaSystem^TM, Activated Basecoat with Flexibilized Clearcoat or ChromaSystem^TM Flexibilized Single-Stage or DuPont Vinyl Color***

B. Primed (polyolefin or non-polyolefin)

1. Wash with soap & water
2. Clean with 3900S or 3949S
3. Sand
4. a) Primed or OEM with cut-throughs use 2319S
   b) Primed, no cut-throughs: use 3901S or 3909S
   Complete the Repair
   
   
5. If polyolefin or unknown plastic, apply 2322S
6. If fill is required, apply URO^® Prime with 2350S**
   If no fill is required, apply 2340S or ChromaPremier^TM Sealer with 2350S*
7. Apply your choice of topcoat: ChromaSystem^TM, Activated Basecoat with Flexibilized Clearcoat or ChromaSystem^TM Flexibilized Single-Stage or DuPont Vinyl Color***

C. OEM Finished (polyolefin or non-polyolefin)

1. Wash with soap & water
2. Clean with 3900S or 3949S
3. Sand
4. a.) OEM with cut-throughs use 2319S
   b.) OEM Finished, no cut throughs- use 3901S or 3909S and apply topcoat directly
   Complete the Repair
   
   
5. OEM with cut-throughs only: If no fill is required, apply 2340S or ChromaPremier^TM Sealer with 2350S*
6. Apply your choice of topcoat: ChromaSystem^TM, Activated Basecoat with Flexibilized Clearcoat or
   ChromaSystem^TM Flexibilized Single-Stage or DuPont Vinyl Color***

* For rigid plastics: If no fill is required, apply ChromaPremier^TM Sealer, Low VOC Prime 'N Seal^TM, Prime 'N Seal^TM or Plas-Stick^TM Flexible Adhesion Sealer.

** For rigid plastics: If fill is required, apply ChromaFil^TM or DuPont URO^® Prime (Without flexible additive).

*** When topcoating rigid plastics a flex additive is not required.
