SX 1044 / SXA 1044 Aerosol High Build Flexible Surfacer, PD-704

SX 1044 and SXA 1044 High Build Flexible Surfacers were developed to be an easy to sand, high build surfacer that offers excellent performance on urethanes, plastics, fiberglass and other substrates.

Surface Preparation

1. Apply SX 1002 Sanding Paste and abrade with a gray Scotchbrite pad, then rinse thoroughly with water. Blow off surface.
2. Clean with SX 1004 Plastic Cleaner and Prep using a lint free towel, wiping in one direction.
3. Sand substrate with 180 - 320 grit sandpaper.
4. Apply 2 medium coats of SXA 1043 Flexible Sealer allowing 5 - 10 minutes flash time between coats. Use 8 - 10 psi at the cap for HVLP equipment and 40 - 50 psi when using conventional spraying equipment.
5. Allow 30 minutes drying time before priming.

Application Procedures

1. Apply 2 medium coats of SX 1044 High Build Flexible Surfacer. Use 8 - 10 psi at the cap for HVLP equipment and 40 - 50 psi when using conventional spraying equipment.
2. When surfacer dries, apply SXA 1030 Guide Coat Black.
3. Dry sand with 320 - 400 grit sandpaper.
4. Wipe and blow off surface. Tack clean with a tack cloth.
5. Apply the PPG paint system of choice.
   
   Note: Do not wet sand.
   
   

   Between coats:	5 - 10 minutes
   Dry to sand:	30 - 40 minutes
   Fluid Tip:	1.8 - 2.3mm or equivalent

Attention:
When finished spraying aerosol products, hold can upside down and spray until valve is cleared. This will prevent clogging of the internal valve.
